COVID-19: Downloading an App before Flying to Canada

Published: Nov 18, 2020

Since April 2020 everyone entering Canada must either sign up on-line or download as an app into their mobile phone a government program called ArriveCAN. ArriveCAN asks, among other things, for the person’s travel and contact information, quarantine plan and to do a COVID-19 symptom self- assessment.

Starting November 21, 2020, all air travelers whose final destination is Canada will be required to submit their information electronically through ArriveCAN before they board their flight. Air travelers must be ready to show their ArriveCAN app upon arrival in Canada. People arriving by land or sea are strongly encouraged to do the same.
