Permanent Residence Fees: Increase as of April 30, 2020

Published: Apr 6, 2020

As of April 30, 2020 permanent resident candidates applying under economic and business categories will be paying more for Immigration Canada’s processing fees. Notwithstanding this, fees for family sponsorship (such as: spousal or parent sponsorship) will generally remain the same.

For instance, if a person applies today for permanent residence under Express Entry or under PEQ – Québec Experience Program, he or she would pay Immigration Canada $1,125: right of permanent residence ($490) + permanent residence visa ($550) + biometrics fee ($85). If, however, one applies on or April 30, 2020, the total processing fees will be $1,410.
