Continued lockdown at the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB)

Published: Jul 26, 2021
On July 23, 2021 the IRB advised that it would continue a remote hearings only operating model for the foreseeable future. This means there will be no in person hearings. It is unclear when the IRB will return to in person hearings, if ever. Refugee claimants, however, do not have to agree to a remote hearing. They can refuse to have their hearings held remotely, waiting until in person hearings resume. Back to all news
